Country Players is a small, amateur theatre group situated in the village of Wakefield, in New Zealand.
2005 is our 50th anniversary. Every year since 1955 (except for a few years after 1968, when our local hall burned down) we have produced 2, 3, or even 4 shows a year.

And for most of this time we have run a junior theatre group. Two of our past juniors have been awarded scholarships with the Globe Theatre. |

Our group is distinctive in that with our small membership, we have to learn to turn our hand to a wide range of skills. (Act in one play, direct the next, sound production, stage managing and so it goes on.

And socially, we have had some durn good times.
